I mean, his legs aren’t looking optimally functional. They look like they’ve been bent in directions they shouldn’t’ve been. I mean they could probably heal, but I assume there’s a lot of pain involved. And the breathing tube is presumably also temporary, but gets old quickly.

Also, C&H is based in the USA right? So presumably there’s still the crippling debt from medical care. Plus potential trauma from the events leading to his current state.

But yes I agree, they definitely could’ve made it more obvious that he’s in a state where he would not want to remain alive. Though the line for that is subjective.
