It’s a fucking complicated situation and the people in charge of both sides are assholes. Netanyahu is an asshat and Hamas are giant asshats.

No, Hamas is full of asshats that force Palestinians to suffer for their own benefit. In this conflict leaders on both sides are assholes. Most of the actual people are alright… except Israeli settlers.

It’s even more complicated than that. Netanyahu and Hamas are both just players in this. The actual war is the US with allies vs Iran. It’s just happening in Israel.

Nah, the US isn’t puppet mastering this one unless Netanyahu is a secret plant (which is far too tinfoil hatty for me). If you look at his historic decisions this 100% tracks for that asshat.

On the Hamas side… eh? It’s either Hamas being asshats just 'cause or Hamas being asshats because of Iranian pressure. Either way they’re fucking asshats. And, to give credence to your point, handing a rocket launcher to a maniac “just 'cause” is absolutely in character for Iran - just look at Yemen or Syria.

Our own country is struggling enough, it would be better to invest in ourselves, especially if we will be taking 0.5 million refugees.

What makes you think Canada will take half a million refugees? UNHCR indicates that we have welcomed a little over a million since 1980.

Yep, and Trudeau has said something similar. He sees his role as protecting Canadian society for the effects of it, because he really can’t do anything about what happens over there.
