They essentially did China’s targeted poverty alleviation, though at a smaller scale, still impressive under a hindutva federal government known for regular pogroms.

… Kerala… was one of the first to interview and laud Palestenian resistance during the genocide. There are literal statues of Lenin as you approach the beaches there. There is mass mobilsation for womens rights and targeted poverty alleviation campaigns. Trans rights is bolstered into civic life and healthcare. There is greater than 95-98% literacy rates in a country of about 65%. It took revolutionary marxists to make these reforms possible. And you don’t get pogroms against muslims, christians and lower caste hindus like you do in the North.

Isn’t the main Indian government pretty fascist leaning? I’m surprised they would allow any state to take on these kinds of actions. If a US state tried any of this the feds would have put a stop to it almost immediately. What happens if more Indian states start working on the same kind of stuff? Would that cause a straight up civil war situation?

Our party had a conversation with some Kerala reps about this and it basically boils down to being highly organized. This is a state that managed to organize millions into protest recently. Our power lies in numbers and if you have that much numbers you can do a lot. They are still scrutinized, they are still targeted by Modi’s fascist militias. But they also have great organising power to counter it.

    Anti-communist Indians be real salty.

And if westerners who consider themselves marxist can give at least critical support to the likes of Venuezuela, Russia and Iran, then they should do for the same for Kerala. As I have read elsewhere, there are more marxists wielding actual power in just Kerala than there is in the whole of the West.

Saying there are more Marxists in power in Kerala than the West is like saying there are more Africans in Europe than Antarctica.
