I recently watched TCC’s Shuffle Up and Play video where they play Pauper with Gavin Verhey, and at the end of it, he demonstrated the High Tide deck going off for 15 minutes.

As a blue player, I fell in love.

Unfortunately, no one else in my playgroup could be convinced to build Pauper just so I can fulfill my dream of boring them to death and winning the game by default, so I’ve been looking for something in Commander that has the same feel: a deck where the main win condition is a long, technical combo. I haven’t had much luck finding one myself, as “durdly” isn’t a search term on EDHREC or any other site, so I thought I might ask for y’all’s recommendations! Give me your slow but inevitable wincons, your solitaire decks, your “Salt sum 88” stuff that your group only lets you play once a year on your birthday!

In the meantime, I’m gonna try to convince them to play Dandân.

If your group plays at bracket 2 or even 3 I have a decklist that could work. Is talrand as a commander, but you can change it for another one like Baraal or perhaps Malcom (the one without partner).

The list looks to play some big payoffs and then kinda storm out, it is really durdrly and feels good to play. Its really boring for the rest of players so I have piloted like twice against people, please goldfish a lot beforehand! link to archidekt

Hmm maybe you can make something around Eluge, the Shoreless Sea, or Talrand since you’ll be getting a LOT of drakes with him to establish boardstate. maybe then some mill or storm finishers as someone already pointed out :) Ampibian Downpour is basically a boardwipe, Crow Storm is obviously OP and Mind’s Desire will get you through your deck.
Of course, Hullbreaker Horror and other mono blue allstars go in there if that’s the powerlevel you’re shooting for
