What a crap take. Nearly 30% of adults in Illinois own a gun. So it’s not about availability of guns, maybe normal people don’t want to just go shooting officers and get themselves killed.
So when you tell’em “arm the homeless, protect your community” they look at you like if you’re ridiculous for proposing to decentralize the means of violence.
Killed in the deathcamps, or now in the streets. This is what liberal Illinoisans have choosen as their praxis: compliance.
A FOID card is stupid easy to get. I haven’t tried to get a CCL because Chicago doesn’t allow them on public transit and quite frankly, I don’t want to be a target if something were to happen.
No one is shooting back. Because no one wants to be the martyr, no one wants to be the first, most people really want to try and avoid bloodshed. You have a fascist paramilitary force that sees violence as a means to achieve their goals and the majority of the population who is trying to fight to keep people safe because their morals and ethics abhor violence. People are really trying to avoid kicking off martial law and the insurrection act. Because while most people wouldnt consider it insurrection, this administration is willing to twist anything as much as they can.
