I just meant that I’d save them the trouble. If I didn’t know I was getting shot until the last second, I’d never have time to care. If I never realized where my family member went, I’m sure I’d be confused and worried, but I don’t know how exactly I’d feel about it, as that hasn’t happened to me. Depending on the person, I might assume that they just left and cut all contact. I might be quite worried, so you make a valid point. I don’t know if there’s any research on the topic.
