The definition in this context is clearly referring to the political party, not your stance towards systems of government.
Thats the thing, the USA “Republican” Party members doesn’t even support Republicanism, they are literally against the constitution, and thus don’t deserve to have this term all to themselves.
Being deliberately obtuse about semantics with terminology doesn’t contribute to the discussion.
But either way… they’re the Republican Party at the moment. So they define what that means and represents in 2025.
Someone needs to bring back and run for the Know Nothing party, they would be the most accurate in this political landscape
