The current administrations treatment of the White House is pretty symbolic for the entire presidency. I’d wager a bet, that either the redesign has to be torn down due to structural issues during the next term or never even gets built.

You’re 100% right. The American ideology of rewarding nationalism and completely covering up all the harm it has caused is unbelievable flawed.
What should be rewarded is knowing the faults that stem from your country’s history, which mistakes to not repeat, and which issues need to be resolved.
