        the lyrics to YMCA changed to reference

        • an old meme structured around finding out something about your date and then abruptly running away from the date (but not before grabbing the breadsticks)
        • a poorly written copypasta parodying the American “make out spot” murderer trope where a girls boyfriend leaves the car to investigate a noise, the girl gets spooked and drives off, only to discover “man hook hand car door” (a man with a hook for a hand) was trying to get in the car but it got trapped as she drove off
        • “gun” is a reference to a super smash bros character who had a gun and people would edit clips of people talking about them to just be repetitions of the word “gun”

        the text is lined up to resemble the “loss” meme and is on a politicial compass.

          Stamets came in and added a couple of meme comms on /0 and I now have a local comm to post on. Never wanted to make one myself lol. Now the comm I mostly post on are local.

          You’ll notice me even more now that I have the art and surreal meme comms here.

    I have a young coworker who has these very “internet” seeming jokes and he is constantly explaining them to me. I don’t think I’ve found any of them funny but it might just be that they’re not funny when explained.

    I think it’s funny how frustrated he gets when I don’t know the stuff. It’s like half the stuff he says is referencing some internet thing and now he has to translate it all to another language.
