People need to keep their jobs out of responsibility and necessity and you are telling them it’s not good enough. You’re posing a false dichotomy about what it means to be committed. My previous job though? Yes. Abso-fucking-lutely was toxic. I did that for 23 years. I have plenty of perspective on this and have seen other colleagues in other organizations having similar situations. Mine isn’t and I would always try to give my team a heads up when I won’t be available.
Maybe start with getting a job that respects you as an individual first before telling me I should just ditch work.
