Biden seeks to “allow for the transfer of all categories of defense articles,” his request states

The White House has formally requested the removal of restrictions on all categories of weapons Israel is allowed to access from U.S. weapons stockpiles in the country, as I reported in detail for The Intercept today. So you know I’m not exaggerating, here’s a screenshot of the request:

The request would also remove nearly all other limits on Israel’s ability to access the U.S. weapons stockpiles — permanently —by doing the following:

Why would anyone make friends with the US if they can’t count on our support?

No one should be “friends” with the US, and every single one of its allies that stands by as they authorize ethnic cleansing is complicit in genocide. The decent people of the world all look in horror at what Israel is doing, they don’t care about ‘setting precedent’ or the US abandoning its ally by not giving them weapons. By giving weapons to Israel the US abandons basic human principles.

Sorry, what? Why shouldn’t the United States have allies?

I mean even Iran has allies. Even your shithole country probably does.

Because allies do not always stay allies. And because the US is friends with another country it doesn’t mean that country has a right to every single weapon in the arsenal. The US will offer protection, and back up their friends with military support.

Sure, every single one. What’s the purpose of the arsenal if we’re not using it?

What kind of friend won’t let you borrow any of the stuff they just keep mothballed in storage?

We should give Israel everything they ask for to eliminate Hamas, who in addition to being the implacable enemy of Israel, is also the implacable enemy of the United States. Why not? Because Palestinians, our enemies, might die in the process? Wow, sucks for them I guess, but they should have tried not being the enemies of two powerful democracies that have been desperately seeking peace with them for 50 years.

What is your desired outcome here? Your replies make a strong case for your desire of the genocide of all Palestinians.

That’s sick. You really need to take a good look inside yourself and figure yourself out if you are calling for a genocide.

I don’t desire their genocide. I don’t think it’s even necessary - I don’t think you have to kill all of the Palestinians. I don’t think you have to kill even 5%. You just have to kill the Palestinians who want to kill Jews so bad they’re prepared to die doing it.

One thing you’d want to be sure of is that you’re not defining Palestinian culture as having such an essential element of Jew-hatred, that killing it off kills the one thing that holds Palestinian society together. You’re not doing that, are you?

Hey Bob! Can I borrow you chainsaw to cut up a body that I killed yesterday? I’m sure you’re not using it right now and we’ve always been friends

Hopefully they’d question their friendship if their friend goes bananas and not blindly support someone just because they’re friends

I don’t agree Israel has “gone bananas”; their action in Gaza is both necessary and restrained.

Yes, really. They’re using the minimum amount of airstrikes necessary to enable ground invasion of Hamas strongholds and even warning of their airstrikes so civilians can evacuate.

“Unrestrained” would be using enough air strikes that they don’t have to invade - it’s safer for the IDF not to have to fight house to house - and not voluntarily giving up the advantage of surprise. The IDF is prosecuting a war to eliminate Hamas with the absolute minimum civilian casualties they can arrange while still having a chance at the objective. What you want, what Israel’s critics actually want, is simply for the IDF not to eliminate Hamas. But after Oct 7th, that’s simply not reasonable - the Israeli position is that Hamas is too dangerous to live.
