The ads urge listeners to “join the mission to protect America” by becoming U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, but users of the music streaming giant have taken to social media and Spotify’s website to complain, and announce their withdrawal from the audio platform.

Oh yeah for all of five minutes lol. People need to get real and actually stick by their principles even if it’s less convenient.

This is bad, Spotify have been doing bad shit for years. I just don’t believe people care enough to actually stop using the service. We need our convenient, easy, quick little treats because otherwise we’ll all get too upset and stressed.

I think people just straight up don’t appreciate media as art and just treat it as content slop.

Spotify wants you to hit play on an artist and just let it random thru whatever. Music isn’t on LPs and Albums with concepts and stories and journeys. just wading through an endless sea of singles completely disconnected from their context and meaning.

I filled the hole from spotify w/ CDs and whatever I could find on BandCamp that I was listening to on Spotify. Music is cheap in relation to the endless subscription of streaming.

People just can’t be bothered to give a shit about anything and it’s fucking exhausting.

I left Spotify two months ago for Tidal when it came out that the CEO of Spotify was funding AI murder drones. Tidal is a downgrade in a lot of ways, but I don’t want the money I spend on music to fund research into how to kill people more efficiently. It also was a stark reminder that I need to keep copies of music that I listen to all the time, so I’ve started stockpiling music.
