I have guns. But if a heavily armed paramilitary knocks down my door with assault weapons pointed at my face I won’t have the chance to use it.

No it isnt. You might want to read up on your laws, mate. Cos that one, has never, and will never stand up in court. Because its not what was meant or intended.

I think the point of the amendment was that the populace could remain armed - so that when the people making “laws” overreach, the population has the means to deal with it. Dealing with it isn’t part of the amendment. Once you start the only way through is revolution, and then you won’t be held accountable.

Theres lots of ways to deal with it, most are legal means though which arent sexy.

I imagine that a lot of those Jan 6th morons thought that they were exercising their rights. After all, they were being told that the election was being stolen. Would everyone here agree that what they did was the right thing, given the information? Of course not, it looked insane and the escalation would have been even worse.

On a purely individual experience, if someone is kicking in your door, and you arent about to be straight up murdered. Just go with them, and sort it out later. Pulling a gun on an armed assault force is never going to end well for you. We all like to think we are John Wick, but we arent. Pulling a gun on a team of armed people will be your last mistake. It should only ever be a last resort.
