I just hope this all leads to never having to hear this bands garbage music ever again. I know they are popular, I never knew why.

I thought the band was fantastic and the music defined a few years of the metal scene.

We can hate the current bullshit without lying about the reality of the music itself.

Lying about the music? This band always sucked, I always hated it. This is my opinion. Can’t really lie about my opinion.

Because of your opinion on the quality of the music (note the distinction from the bandleader’s current behavior), I don’t care about anything you have to say about anything.

          Your opinion sucks.

“Defined a few years of the metal scene”? Sure, buddy. Let’s not give them that much credit. Other bands shaped that genre in that era. Disturbed was always a B list band.

Just because you’re being a bit obnoxious I am calling you out to defend your stance with receipts.

B tier? Homie I hate nu metal. Here’s the reality.

S tier - Korn. Limp Bizkit. Linkin Park. This is on record sales, ticket sales, etc. they dominated. Tell me one nu metal band bigger than those three. Dare ya.

Now to sink your claim. Here’s 10 A tier nu metal artists. I argue that my S tier and A tier list comprises the actual definition of the genre. To satisfy your claim, you must remove Disturbed from the A tier list, and insert a band that deserves being there more. Only then will you even be agreeing with yourself. Until then, you’re admitting you’re talking out of your ass.

          1. Slipknot.

          2. System of a Down.

          3. Deftones.

          4. Papa Roach.

          5. Disturbed.

          6. Mudvayne.

          7. P.O.D.

          8. Staind.

          9. Taproot.

          10. Drowning pool.

          Your move.

Lol ok…? I hate nu metal, but I understand which bands seemed to do the heavy lifting. I only liked Deftones. Korn and Slipknot were cool. Soulfly was great if you clumped them in the mix.

The bands that laid the groundwork for nu metal to exist were sepultura, quicksand, korn and deftones.

While nu metal became a thing corporations could sell then I would include slipknot, soad, deftones, korn, lincoln park, staind as the leaders. Limp bizkit killed it. Everyone else were b tier. Only s tier was deftones because they actually put effort in creating what they wanted and not what was part of the shitrock formula.

Your suggestion that soulfly belongs on the A-tier list instead of disturbed is akin to me saying The Who was B tier and Harry Nilsson was a king because lime and the coconut slaps.

We both hate nu metal. For some reason your personal favorite within something you hate is clouding your judgement.

When talking about what bands defined a music genre’s scene, the answer isn’t your favorites. That’s not what we’re talking about. Why would we be talking about that, ever? Let alone in this context?

Application denied. You clearly don’t even take your own argument seriously.

Yeah, no. They headlined Ozzfest for several years. Liking their music or not is a matter of taste; whether they were influential is not.

Yeah shit on them all you want, they were one of the most played bands growing up, it was my best friend’s second favorite band (he likes Breaking Benjamin too much) when we were in high school.

I don’t like them now, they just stopped being relevant and producing what I liked, but I won’t call their stuff trash, it helped define metal in a good majority of the 00s.

I’m a huge fan of Breaking Benjamin’s early albums. I suppose it’s natural to have been into both of these bands at the same time.

Haters on the internet are a hilarious crowd. I bet you get immense joy from being contrarian.

The lead singer sucks and has definitely disappointed me, though.

I hated them in high school when they were popular and I still hate them. Why is that wrong?

My point was, I seriously doubt they helped shape nu metal scene. They had like 2 popular songs and people mainly just made fun of the monkey sound he makes.

He’s a tool for genocide. That’s why he sucks. I’m not a fan of the nu metal genre, so I don’t care for their music, but the man is/was talented. His ability to add distortion to pitched vocals is what many metal vocalists strive for. Even if not trying to emulate his sound, he’s got like perfect compression built into his diaphragm. He has a good voice. That’s why people like(d) him.

But he uses it to protect genocide. So legitimately fuck him. Im glad AI will cannibalize his voice so anyone who wants to hear it won’t need to give that asshole a dime.
