How much do you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?

Well, if coach woulda put me in the fourth quarter, we’d have been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind. You better believe things had been different. I’d have gone pro in a heartbeat. I’d be making millions of dollars and living in a big ol’ mansion somewhere, soaking it up in a hot tub with my soul mate.

on god though the “former ‘gifted’ child” trope is so fucking tired…

what? people told you that you were special once and then stopped? that’s not special, that’s fucking life. actually special people realize that and keep going. actually special people work past the burnout and genuinely achieve things. what some underpaid 25 yo kid told you in elementary school has no bearing on what you could accomplish and blaming your own failures on it is sad and paltry.

i think most people just can’t accept the cognitive dissonance that their exceedingly average and mediocre lives cause them. wow turns out being actually extraordinary requires exceeding and rare qualities/effort that the vast majority of people lack who knew???

For the cheap price of all your hopes and dreams or $59.99, whichever is more expensive

See, there should be a smiling mask that gets put on over top of a clear ball, with the whole thing mounted to sit on top of the wearer’s head with a support structure that rests on the shoulders and looks like lead bricks. This all represents the fake brave face we put on to face the world while feeling empty AF inside, along with all the weight we carry on our shoulders.
