There are plenty of people who would say “cool” to this unironically and it’s impossible to distinguish from an ironic post like yours. That’s how that side of the fence generally operated on Reddit.

That said, Lemmy has a lot of autistic and non-English so don’t be surprised to be taken at face value. Although, “Cool.” is pretty hard to read sarcastically without a lot of assumptions, lol.

It’s harder to convey sarcasm with shorter phrases. Since mouthbreathing trolls are the kind of people that answer with one word (not saying that you are), it’s hard to detect it in your original comment.
This is the most autistic social media I’ve ever been on. Assume every word you write will be taken at face value. Many of these folks have no sense of sarcasm, irony, or even joking. Also, merely stating a plain fact that they don’t like will score you a beating. Can’t imagine what talking to some of these people IRL would be like.
It’s text, there is literally no way to know how you intended it to come across, people like you seem to think your intentions somehow bleed through into the text
