      Yes. The Senate is still in session. Congress has to be able to meet during a shutdown so that they can vote to end it.

        Ah, I wonder how many times the senate had voted on issues that are “unrelated” to ending the shutdown. I suppose theoretically any issue could be working towards ending it to get senate into alignment.

          They’ve been busy doing bulk confirmation of Trump nominees now that they changed the rules so that the Democrats can’t force individual vote and debate on each of them

          There wont be an end to the shutdown anytime soon because that would require seating a newly-elected Democrat in the House, and she has promised to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files

    Oh so he fully understands the threat of climate change, but is happy to follow orders and prevent action to mitigate the damage of climate change

    The absolute worst type of person, in my opinion. He knows the harm his actions will cause, but doesn’t care if it gets him money and power
