I think “allies” also share a responsibility in speaking up. Trans people should not be alone out there.
If it is difficult to speak to right wingers about this, recruiting and coaching others for discussion on their behalf might be an easier route and potentially more fruitful.
Most of them do but it’s not the best topic to run on politically since only a slight majority of Americans support trans rights. I think it’s like 65/35 or 60/40 depending on the issue. It’s better if they campaign on workers rights, regulating corporations so we can own our own devices and at least partially nationalize the telecom networks for the people so these companies can’t force us into extremely bad platforms and stuff. Net neutrality, right to repair, rolling back the extensive patents which make things like prescription drugs expensive, forced open access to infrastructure, workers rights and protections. Making corporations pay the same tax rate as workers. Depoliticizing the supreme court. These are all very popular issues they could run on and of course protections for trans people and other minorities would be much appreciated. Things they don’t need to run on are trans rights primarily, immigration, even if they want to compromise and stuff which is fine, they shouldn’t run on expanding spending on healthcare because inflation is high and thats one of the primary reasons it is so high, which is making everyone poorer to funnel trillions of dollars into the pharmaceutical industry.
They should go social Democrat, move toward European style democracy. Get rid of the two party system. Regulate the rich so they can’t destroy our entire society for greed and power. Take back control of the elections and state for the people, not allow tens of thousands of superpacs and nonprofits to advertise to get their corrupt politicians elected.
