There is a time and place for that. It’s better to be nice and speak to people. We need to show them that we are normal people and not what their propaganda says about us. Many of those people are stuck in echo chambers. If they are too much of a dick then don’t ruin your day over it, but we need community outreach. It’s about the only thing that will get them to stop voting for those people.

Why the fuck should we do that? We’ve tried compassion. We’ve tried to dispel the disinformation. We’ve tried to show that we bleed the same. They. Don’t. Fucking. Care.

The high-road has worked so well, hasn’t it?

Honestly much of the reason so many people went to the republicans is because many people in the democratic sphere often have terrible attitudes and charisma. I get that you can’t always keep yourself from getting angry. I struggle with this too. It’s just not helpful. Better to keep your mouth shut and be as reasonable as possible. Don’t belittle them or treat them like they are dumb. If you get mad just walk away. Save it for another day. You don’t have to say everything you think.

We only need small margins to win. It’s not like we have to change everyone’s minds. If half of Democrats would try to reach out to one person then that might be enough to flip some people or just show them that they can be brave and go against the groupthink and culty bullshit. We should absolutely protect our spaces from them however. Don’t let them in our spaces just don’t be a dick about it. Calmly explain that you don’t allow hate there and most of the people in that space have zero desire to hear that stuff.

I genuinely wish I knew even one republican who could be flipped in time, but tbh anyone who voted for trump this go around is incredibly unlikely to change

No, many of the people who voted for him, maybe half can be flipped. Might as well put in the bit of effort now because if we don’t the rest of our life is only going to get much worse. Not just us but everyone. We have many advantages. One is the Republicans have to spend a ton of money to get anyone on their side. They are bleeding money like crazy trying to run propaganda. All it takes is you talking to someone and for a few dollars of your time, you can destroy tens of thousands of dollars of Republican and corporate propaganda.

That’s okay, maybe keep it in mind for others though. Sometimes a simple hello is all people need to know you aren’t a bad person and not what their corporate propaganda portrays you as. Good luck.
