Once you start seeing who constitutes the pool of “philanthropists” in this country or, really, any other, you discover he’s right in line with the rest. From Bill Gates to Bernard Marcus and Mark Zuckerberg to Karl Ichan, the vast majority of “Giving Pledge” folks are absolute sociopaths.
Almost as though “charity” as its defined in the US tax code is just a way to evade taxes while advancing some reactionary cause du juor.

Bill Gates has actually done stuff unlike the rest of them. The Gates foundation has done some good work.
So has Chan-Zuckerberg, but mostly Chan. Icahn funded a lot of medical research and hospitals in NY.
Musk has done nothing positive with his life.

Gates Foundation has done some good things tangential to their primary mission. They’ve also been pivotal in the privatization of education and commoditization of medical technology.
And then, of course, their commitment to investment in surveillance and national security technology.
