      I don’t like it but I understand it. The goal is get the message out to as many people as possible and to tell the world about the injustice. In a just world everyone would have flocked to another social media but sadly it’s a means to an end.

      @DrMartinu

      They have accounts on almost all social media.

      Twitters is still one of the major platforms with millions of users.

        Millions of bots and fascists.

        It’s also a platform that people vehemently refuse to access. It’s not that they haven’t heard of Twitter, THEY REFUSE TO GO. So that wholly negates any perceived crowd already on there. You are actively cutting out an audience by using it.

        With the sheer number of obvious abuses by elon and the Twitter staff, like cutting off this account, it should have been a wake up call years ago to get off. Stop referring to it as ‘posting on Twitter’ or ‘posting on x’ it should be flatly referred to as ‘reporting directly to elon musk.’ am I supposed to see the benefit in this?

        They have accounts on every social media, and also used to report directly to elon musk until he didn’t like it.

        The crux of our differences seems to be with you, and the morons still on it, still considering Twitter social media and not a bought and controlled propaganda arm. Are you calling fox News news next?

          Probably tens or even hundreds of millions*

          I joined shortly before Musk takeover and it was already a dumpster fire, so I made a script that searched for spam and fascist dogwhistles in the background and preemptively blocked them all 24/7 up to the rate limit. Two years later and well over 300k blocked accts later I gave up and deleted the account after seeing it barely even made a dent in the threads I was reading there.

          You can consider it bought and paid for propaganda, but people were still getting some emergency services ONLY over Twitter (yes, dumb, but they don’t really get to pick where their city hosts that info)

          In that same vein, there is presence and there are people and getting the message to as many people as possible is the point. They should even post on 4-chan while they’re at it, to keep it broad.

            Any actual emergency service relying on social media has bigger problems. Shitter is not essential.

              I’m not saying it’s essential, I’m saying you’re needlessly limiting your reach by NOT using it to communicate for outreach. Shitty platform, shitty people, shitty creators/owners, shitty advertisers, shitty business practices, still a place people are at numbers HIGHER than most of our favorite federated platforms. So, to not use it when your goal is to reach as many people as possible, seems counterproductive.

            Lol you’re still parroting the tired excuse that there’s some supremely important, earth stopping information being posted to Twitter, and we all die without it. Get real. It legitimately sounds like an addiction. I’m not being funny, it legitimately sounds like an addiction.
