I really like the dreamlike, ethereal and hazy depiction of these angels. From what I know, this painting references Genesis 19. It essentially tells a story of God’s angels coming to earth to pass judgment on the towns people of Sodom. Knowing the dark story behind this makes it even more compelling.
I was totally captivated when I first saw it, and I was so intrigued that I just had to find out more about its background!
