If you got the space for it a Rose (rayonnant) window is the way to go

You got to come armed and ready to educate people from first principles on window aesthetic. You got to build them up and let them develop opinions before you can converse.

Lancet is the only acceptable answer, none of the others offer as superior a position to fire an arrow from.
Why are so many rectangular with an arched top?
Rectangle is easy shape, arch holds weight better
Arch also sheds water better, a flat top would have water coming down in front of the window instead of around it
I think Lancet or Tudor would be it. not too many frills but not just a hole in the wall.
