Ford Motor Co. said Tuesday it would cut up to 1,000 jobs at its electric auto plant in Cologne, Germany due to lower than expected demand for battery-powered cars.

In that particular case, the Ford EVs are simply way to expensive. That is their main problem. It is hard to sell a €40k car in a €25k car market.
