    The article does not specify what sort of businesses they purchased the samples from, just “sold in Portland, Oregon”. So, I presume they did purchase some of the samples from reputable dispensaries.

    This phenomenon also occurs on the dark web, which I think most consumers agree is generally a safer source than gas stations. You can find all sorts of “shroom extract” type products that are marketed as being made with psilocybin that they extracted from mushrooms. But the community consensus is that at best, they are most likely actually just using synthetic grey-market 4-AcO-DMT, and at worst, the products contain some unknown substance, so it is just best to steer clear entirely.
