More than 50 political parties and NGOs gathered in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to support Venezuela, Iran, Palestine, and Lebanon in the face of U.S. sanctions and interference.
Under the motto “international solidarity against imperialism and for the sovereignty of peoples,” the meeting began with a tribute to the Iranian martyrs who fell in the war imposed by Israel against the Persian country last June.
The delegates denounced unilateral coercive measures against Iran, Venezuela, Yemen, and Cuba, and reaffirmed their support for the resistance of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples against the Zionist occupation by Israel.
The summit concluded with a strong joint declaration denouncing sanctions against Venezuela and Iran as crimes against humanity and reaffirming the duty to support the Palestinian resistance. Delegates accused the United States and its allies of causing instability in West Asia and Latin America and demanded the immediate lifting of the embargo on Cuba and Venezuela.

Avante, camaradas! Venceremos!
Wish my comrades in Brazil plenty of success! It is beautiful to see solidarity increasing in the region despite the US attacks.
Viva o PCO
Aí você está de sacanagem. Nada de apoio a PatSocs e Nazbols.
Quem organizou esse evento foi o PCO
Wheres the shittalkers to try to distort this one? PCO is the only real left in Brasil
I don’t know much about them but anyone in favor of “freedom of speech” of fascists can’t be called “real left”.
PCO is the textbook nazbol party. If I tried to describe it in detail, you’d think it’s satire. But the edgy kids who like left aesthetics are drawn to it.
can you forward me some information if you have any at hand?
You can auto translate their website, they’re pretty honest about their white chauvinist views.
https://pco.org.br/textos-politicos-e-sociais/#bandeirantismo
Key issues are anything that relates to indigenous genocide or “free speech”. Note that the word “racism” only pops up once, on the “free speech” section. It’s a white academic socdem/Trot party that roleplays as communist.
They do tend to organize international events such as these, oddly with a lot of international presence despite barely any presence from other local parties. Naturally, the Trots understand the lack of other parties but international validation as a sign that they are the only correct ones and everyone else is wrong.
Damn, I wasn’t expecting to read apologia to colonialism.
Unless I am misunderstanding here, Bandeirantismo are the colonizers that capture and enslave indigenous people for plantations and mines set up by the Portuguese. Damn, now I understand why Brazil persecuted the MST movement. If parties like this condone indigenous enslavement, they can easily excuse violence against the indigenous people and activists from the MST now.
This is horrible
Edit 1.
Also, if possible, @[email protected], could you open a post in c/Genzedong so more people are able to see this information? Also adding @[email protected] and [email protected] so they can also enrich the post with their perspective.
And if it is not much to ask, could you share links of alternative organizations to follow in Brazil? It will be great if those orgs have solidarity with our fellow Venezuelans, Iranians, Palestinians and all of the oppressed by imperialism.
Yep, PCO is terrible. Also, completely irrelevant in the national scenario. Shunned by all other marxist organisations. They do make some noise with their non-sense from time to time. Before this, the last time I heard of them, they were doing a go-kart race with a fascist organisation (MBL). No marxist in Brazil was perplexed by their bullshit, though.
@Conselheiro added some good information. I typed a lot, then deleted it. I think his report is better, quite accurate and extensive. Though I don’t know how “honest” can a reformist party be. He also missed the other trostkist party, PSTU. They’re less weird than PCO, but… quite irrelevant, honestly? Just for the sake of completeness.
I’ll also add that maoist/LCP militants are often assassinated. But that goes without saying, for the rural land owning class is as powerful and ruthless as in most former colonies.
This is a mighty task that I’m not capable of doing right now lol. I’ll save this comment to remind me when I have more time.
As for anti-imperialist/communist orgs that deserve more attention, we have:
The siblings MST and MTST (homeless worker’s movement). They range internally from revolutionary to reformist, and are in the process of overcoming their notable pro-Lula bias. MST has their own newspaper called Brasil de Fato, with an English section.
https://www.brasildefato.com.br/editoria/english/brazil/
Partido Comunista Revolucionário is a ML vanguard party with some Hoxhaist tendencies. They operate fairly large movements and collectives, including their electoral organization Unidade Popular. Their central apparatus is the party newspaper A Verdade (as in Pravda), which sadly does not have an English section. Internationally, they’re a CIPOML party.
Partido Comunista Brasileiro Revolucionário is an ML split from the old PCB that is undergoing reconstruction. As a new party they tend to be rather eclectic in theory and disorganized in action. Their central apparatus is the newspaper O Futuro, but they also have something like a theory journal called Em Defesa do Comunismo with longer texts and a debate tribune. Occasionally they have translated articles on the international section. They have no electoral register and internationally are affiliated with Solidnet.
https://jornalofuturo.com.br/ https://emdefesadocomunismo.com.br/
There’s also A Nova Democracia on the maoist front, strongly affiliated with an armed MST split called Liga dos Camponeses Pobres.
https://anovademocracia.com.br/
And there’s also the reformist Partido Comunista do Brasil, which claims itself as ML. I think they might be relevant for users here as they’re the only party mentioned that considers China socialist. They are also strongly pro-Lula currently. Their newspaper is Vermelho. Despite my criticisms, they are mostly honest reformists, not to be confused with so-called “social-democrats” we’re all used to.
The event in this post was organized by PCO lol
And yet they come. This event was organized by the PCO. Only party supporting russia, only party supporting hamas, same with Assad, Venezuela and Iraq only anti identitarism party, only party to call out the coup against dilma etc etc etc. Lol downvote all you want, you dont have arguments
Only party supporting Hamas? Do PCR and PCBR, to name a few, not exist? Not even the maoist organizations?
I won’t waste my time with the other comments because this is a gringo network, but that’s just incorrect.
Pcr only article that cites hamas after al aqsa is this
https://pcrbrasil.org/?s=hamas&submit=Search
And i see in no part where they say they support hamas.
Pcbr ceased to exist in 1990, i dont understand why you bring it up. The “maoist organizations” are who?
PCBR reports daily on Gaza: https://emdefesadocomunismo.com.br/atualizacao-sobre-a-tempestade-al-aqsa-dia-709/
PCR has their own newspaper, on which they report on the genocide frequently: https://averdade.org.br/?s=hamas+israel
Do Trots only get their information from Wikipedia now? Those are two living and breathing organisations with the biggest expression among the working class from the radical left, yet you don’t even know about their central publication apparatuses.
As for the maoists, I’m not well versed on them as they are small and I have my own criticisms, but A Nova Democracia has a dedicated space in their newspaper for Gaza: https://anovademocracia.com.br/category/plantao-palestina/
And this is why nobody likes PCO. It’s a party more willing to speak gringo than Portuguese, and won’t ever interact with any other Brazilian movement. Anecdotally, I’m very politically engaged and yet I have never even seen a physical piece of propaganda from your lot. Where is this great party that is less expressive than the maoists?
Emdefesadocomunismo belongs to PCBRR, not PCBR
And if im not mistaken thats Jones Manuel party, the guy who said receiving money from the ford foundation is ok
About PCR, can you show where they support hamas? I saw some articles, and in fact they arent against, but could not find where they support Hamas directly. Would be happy to see this
have never even seen a physical piece of propaganda from your lot.
The event this post talks about was organized by PCO. The biggest street manifestation in defense of Palestine in Brasil is from PCO. The campaing “Eleição sem Lula é fraude” is from PCO. First party to call “Fora Bolsonaro” was PCO. I think you do have heard of us, you just dont know it was us
PCBR is the result of the PCB-RR movement. It’s been over an year now.
And I have heard of PCO. I’ve just never seen PCO in any rally, strike, protest with broad participation. It has an electoral register, it’s hard not to notice, but I’ve met more Marxists somehow still in PT than PCO militants in my whole life. That’s a bad sign for the “most correct party”.
Did they change names after Jones defrauded the raffle? Thats the last time i heard about it
