Ever since HHH’s announcement that next year’s 'mania is going to be in Vegas, after The Rock had earlier announced that 'mania would be in NOLA I’ve been thinking about this but never posted it. I really worry how this move could adversely affect the various indies that always have shows around 'mania. Any that had gone ahead and reserved venues for NOLA are likely stuck in contracts that would include hefty cancellation fees. I doubt many included contingencies for mania getting moved. So many indies are run on such tight budgets I wonder if this could put any of them under, especially when they probably had similar loses in '20, which they probably now include contingencies for medical emergencies or whatever now. I know a couple conventions I used to help run lost tons in '20 and one basically doesn’t exist anymore while the other is on life support.
I don’t know about wrestling companies, especially smaller ones, but bands can carry an insurance policy that covers things if they need to back out.
