      Why has the author of that article decided to sereptitiously add “white Europeans” to that quote.

      Just put what he actually said. Just put the full quote. The mf said “they” in the part that was ACTUALLY quoted. Surely that “they” had an antecedent a few sentences before, yes??? So put that! I’ll decide for myself if what he really means is white Europeans.

      I think you’ll find it was largely the people they enslaved who did this.
