So this government minister, Angela Rayner, has a disabled son, Charlie. He was born prematurely and there were problems during the birth which left him blind and with special needs. Charlie was awarded compensation from the NHS, which was put into a trust for him. This money was his, to help him throughout his life.
Angela Rayner already had two homes, a house she owned, and a free house given to her as a perk of her job. But she decided this wasn’t enough. She wanted another one that cost £800K, and stole some of her son’s compensation to buy it. On top of this, she committed fraud by claiming it was her only home so she paid less tax on it.
She’s been found out now, and has resigned. An everyday prole like us would go to prison if we did all this, but our high and mighty overlords are protected from such consequences. This government treat disabled people like scum for claiming money to live (even though some of them have disabled kids themselves) all the while they are stealing and committing fraud to build up a portfolio of luxury homes.
EDIT: Oh, and Rachel Reeves, the evil minister who has tried to basically end disability benefits? She publicly stated that she supports Angela Rayner and has “full confidence” in her. Birds of an evil feather really do stick together.
You were making a lot of sense but then you lost us at “fascist Russia”. This is pure projection from the West. Also, there is very little difference between the left and right wings of the establishment nowadays.
Whether you have labor or conservative government in the UK, whether you have SPD or CDU in Germany, in practice their policies are almost identical. They both serve capital.
As for “the far right is in bed with Russia” type statements, this is just Russiagate nonsense. What does it even mean “they are supported by Russia”?
Is Russia giving these groups material support in the form of money or weapons like the West does with groups around the world where they want to overthrow governments they don’t like? Are they taking orders from Moscow? No. If that was the case there would be concrete evidence and these groups would be prosecuted (and not just for social media posts).
Instead all we hear are insinuations and vague allegations based on the fact that a certain segment of the right (not all of them, in fact most of the real hardcore Nazi far right are extremely anti-Russia) don’t want to be hostile to Russia (or so they claim) and have some degree of ideological overlap with the current socially conservative Russian government.
This is not some big Russian conspiracy, it is simply that the European so-called “populist” (of course they are fake populists) right has seized upon the fact that the establishment’s Russia derangement syndrome and their anti-Russia crusade are damaging to their own countries and growing increasingly unpopular with the people, as material conditions are rapidly deteriorating as a result of this all-consuming obsession.
It is an easy way for the “populist” right to increase their popularity and appear as the voice of reason by saying what is now taboo for anyone in the establishment to say: that these policies are self-destructive and need to stop. The blame lies with the European left which has capitulated to the establishment’s Russophobia and warmongering. The left which has chosen to bend the knee to the corrupt and undemocratic EU.
If we want to stop the rise of the far right we urgently need to correct these mistakes. We need to provide a real left wing anti-war, anti-austerity, anti-deindustrialization, and anti-EU alternative rather than cede that rhetorical ground to the far right.
I agree with almost all of that, I would frame it as the aristocracy working for the investor class having seized the left options of all of our parties. We have choices between conservatives, and fascists now. Or far right or whatever the case may be.
Where we differ is that Russia has indeed been sponsoring fascists across the West. Now the US will be as well. They themselves are not all that dissimilar from fascists either.
Establishment propaganda notwithstanding Russia is helping fascists seize control in Western countries, partly I presume because they know these dumbass fascists will ruin their countries and allow them not only revenge but to take a more commanding position in the world. Not the least with the US.
They’re doing the world that disservice though, innumerable harms will result from fascists in the US let alone the Domino’s that are going to fall across the rest of the West.
