I’ve been going to a few of these “indivisible” protests, and while it’s nice to see people out there I’m usually left disappointed. It is mostly elderly folks, and they are very orderly: strictly obey all laws and permitted protest times. All while chanting “no justice, no peace!”. It isn’t credible.

It’s better than nothing, though. Which is what it would be if our elder activists left it up to the young generations.

I get it, my partner and I are consistently the only ones under 60 at our local protests. I have been feeling profoundly disappointed by my fellow millenials. Can’t talk shit about the boomers though, at least they are actually out there doing something instead of doom posting.

I’m glad people are out there, but it seems to me that we aren’t really accomplishing anything, and that should be the point, right? Otherwise, it’s just a social event where we all get a nice chuckle out of each others’ clever signs.
