I absolutely do not want to dissuade anyone from checking out the others’ music, but Poppy is the only person that makes this interesting to me.

I guess you lean more pop then? I really like Poppy’s turn to metal “They’re all around us” is one of my favorite tracks she’s made.
Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox is amazing as well, and Amy Lee from Evanescence has been an icon for decades already.
I do suspect this will be an all cleans song though, besides their harsh vocals both Poppy and Courtney has amazing clean singing voices as well.

Generally no, I am all about metal, but her mix of bubblegum pop and, Idk, nu metal? was something refreshing and her shows have been fun as hell (seen her 3x).

Evanescence and Spiritbox I find too radio friendly and, if I’m being honest, kinda cringy. I understand some folks say the same about Poppy though.

Generally I am all about doom, black, thrash, and traditional metal (and various subgenres). I wouldn’t classify any of these ladies under those, though

I accept that some view the nu-metal and nu-metal adjacent bands like Evanescence from that time period as cringy, but it’s hard imo to deny what a great singer Amy Lee is, and how great she did on this song, which I think she carried.
I personally like quite a few spiritbox songs, but then again, I don’t dip my toes too deep in the harder (metal) genres, harder than metalcore anyway. Every now and then I’ll hear of a band, like Afsky or Knocked Loose that I really like and go all in on.
But I am curious why, for example, a song like Cellar Door isn’t considered metal by you.

I’m not somewhere where I can listen to the song right now - I’ll give it a listen later - but to be clear I’m not saying they’re not metal, just that their style isn’t really in any of the metal genres I usually listen to. From what I know vaguely of the band they’re metalcore? But I really haven’t listened to them much myself and this is just from what I’ve heard from others.

As someone that just recently, over the last month or two, got really into “male reared” metal again after an almost 20 year break from music, it’s really cool to see the 3 artists I spent the most time getting caught up on put out a teaser like this.
Poppy joined Spiritbox on stage for Louder than Life 2024 for the song “Soft spine”, and Louder than Life 2025 rolls around in a bit over 2 weeks from now which has both Spiritbox and Evanescence in the lineup. No Poppy though (or Jinjer 😉), but it would be pretty cool if they sang it there and if Poppy swung by.
It makes you wonder how Poppy and Courtney got introduced to Amy Lee. Oh and there’s talk about Jordan Fish being involved as well, which makes sense as he’s closely tied to Poppy’s newest album “Negative Spaces”.
