    ALDI solved this with the carts that take a coin. If someone doesn’t want to return it, and leaves it in the parking lot, someone else will return it to get the coin.

      Somebody inevitably always mentions this in shopping cart social theory threads.

      You must understand, the discussion is not actually about how to solve the issue of shopping carts being returned. The treatment of shopping carts is being used as an illustration of a concept.

        Who’s going to bring a bread knife with them to Aldi though? Just bring it back or give it to someone on their way in if you’re that lazy (I’ve totally done that more than once).

            Lol, when I got the notification it just shows your name at first and I was like "wait who did I piss off? I only engage in one political argument a day and this one ain’t it.

            Now let me ask you what someone would carry normally that would be bread knife like? Maybe a cut down credit card? But for a quarter, I don’t think I could bring myself to do something so petty when I already bring back my cart in stores that don’t have this coin system.
