The Republicans figured it out with Regan and have been refining it ever since. If Newsome can get enough shit brained non voters to put his name in a box for lulz then fuck it, I’d rather have that asshole than whoever the Republicans are going to pick.
I’ll be happier to see a progressive, educated professional with a successful career full of giving-a-shit , independent and with wild grassroots support, but that doesn’t seem likely.
