And I do actually mean help here and not “fix my car while I watch”

Basically we both work on it in different spots so we get the work done faster, we tag out when a specific thing is being a headache, or I do the thing and he guides me through it so I don’t make my car a lawn ornament (my favorite)

With my tool/skill set doing brakes is explicitly a 2 person job.

I don’t even know how it could be done as one person.

And of course there’s the satisfaction of a job well done with others as well. Collaborating with someone on a project and succeeding is SO satisfying. Like I’d rather do a project with a friend than by myself whenever possible.

You can but it usually requires a little tooling like a vacuum pump

      Tis more fun together anyway

you can DIY by turning a 12v tire inflator in reverse electrically to bleed the brakes as a one person job (just switch the wires).

just be sure to keep an eye on the brake fluid reservoir level because I was underneath the car and wasn’t paying attention to the top and almost sucked in a whole bunch of bubbles.
