The time skip feels natural, and even though I was initially skeptical about the premise that Hank and Peggy moved to Saudi Arabia for years (seems so out of character for them), I now appreciate how it allows us to see the Hills react to the ways life in the US has changed. It was a great choice.
Nah not out of character, contracts in SA are actually pretty common in Texas gas circles apparently.
(I’m speculating here, of course)
They lured him out with the promise of doing cool shit with propane, maybe after Buck had his fifth heart attack and died leaving the business to his son “Roy or Ray or something” and he ran it into the ground. Peggy went along of course under the assumption she’ll teach English or something, Bobby had moved out with Joseph and started the restaraunt with Chane at some point, though then they’d only have been gone like, 3 years since Bobby was 13 when it ended and 21 when he mentions it to the college kids in (iirc) s14e01.
