My problem is how they don’t notify the users, doesn’t give them a choice, and how it causes magnitudes more problems than it solves.

I’m not faulting Bitlocker, if I was carrying around a Windows machine it would for sure be secured by it. My problem is how they don’t notify the users, doesn’t give them a choice, and how it causes magnitudes more problems than it solves.
Their own legal safety is a priority over whatever user wants.
