I don’t know, every news story I read on this said “Mastercard and Visa”. I don’t see how whether they are technically considered “processors” or “networks” matters to me or the issue.

Networks = Mastercard, Visa
The processors told itch and Steam to deindex those games. The processors claim that they have to do this due to contracts with the networks, but Mastercard currently denies this

You’re able to purchase pornhub subscriptions with your visa/mastercard card (which can only go through the designated network on your card), so why wouldn’t you be able to purchase other type of adult games? So far all instances I’ve seen of banning have been from payment processors. Saw a post where a network said that they accept anything that’s legal

afaik Valve and Itch have not disclosed the names of their payment processors, so no way for me to know, and companies could lie anyways
sure, but far too much trust is given on some journalistic sources which just spread a potential lie without checking further
The way it was explained to me is that porn sites are a more secure source of income which trumps every other concern.
I don’t believe many people chargeback adult games on steam and itch
