Educating people about instances of leopards eating faces after a lot of people voted for leopards being set free to do as they like is one of the main jobs of journalism. And it might actually make a few people reconsider their choice, moreso than any other facts about the leopards.
I don’t feel bad for morons who get duped. I gotta live in this shithole country, so when people get what they actually asked for, I fucking celebrate it.
I can be angry at Facebook, which I dumped in 2008, and still feel indifferent towards people who post pro-ICE memes and get deported. These aren’t mutually exclusive things.
There’s no helping the majority of this country, if I can be blunt about it. I’ve been to 46/50 states, and the sheer volume of cognitive dissonance I’ve come across is just mind boggling. A solid voting half of this country believes that their hate for something is justified until it affects them or someone they personally care about.
I don’t walk around carrying hate towards strangers, so I’ll just point and laugh when they get delivered the goods that they literally asked for.
This isn’t politics, it’s schadenfreude journalism. We shouldn’t get joy from the downfall of a couple who were manipulated by algorithms for profit.

You have every right to be angry. Direct that anger at the folks doing the manipulation not the masses falling for it.

Posting memes, is not “doing the manipulation”? 🤔
agreed. we’re supposed to be obsessed with other people getting what they deserve.
