The death toll has been at “60 thousand” for over a year. It was far passed 60 thousand when they pulled that number out of their asses. reports and tallies have it clocked at atleast 430 thousand. That is a conservative number.
I’ve been seeing estimates which I considered at least semi-credible of total excess deaths as high as 400-500K but I can’t remember what orgs were saying that, just that they were factoring in disease, untreated medical conditions, lost under the rubble, etc.
Super disappointed in Wyden on this.
I made sure to let him know, in absolutely blistering terms.
