If I were from the UK, I’d rather invest in a good VPN rather than risk posting images of my face, utility bill, or my passport/driver’s licence to some dubious online services.

Proton has the cheapest option at free, and having such a backup is very important so perhaps support for them makes $4.99/month for a 2 year contract worth it if you do not want to use cryptocurrency. Mullvad has a very fair pricing structure with a €5/m flat rate. IVPN is down to $3.89/m for a 3 year contract.
