Ill be a little more clear on this. I am not angry or asking for more from the person who posted the callout. they did their due diligence in taking accountability and thats fine
but what i do have an issue with is not saying this was their fault, explaining why it happened doesnt remove fault. and i dont meant that to put a negative connotation on the poster as a person. but the general idea of not putting fault at people who are ok with taking the time to call out but not look deep into things
you have the right to believe that its not a big deal. but i think it is. not particularly this case alone, but i believe to put fault at someone doing a callout is more than reasonable to not get this to a stage where it impacts artists significantly. things like being banned for accused ai-art posting when there was no proof
i do believe the point i made is more semantics side. i understand the knee-jerk reaction to claim something is ai given it’s horrors. hell i had that reaction seeing this image at first before looking. but i am quite uncomfortable that someone did callout without check and someone is saying its not entirely their fault. understanding why it happened isnt a justification, even if the thing is not a big deal in the specific case
I can see your point. I may be using the wrong word too when I said it was not entirely the commenters fault. I meant for it to be more of an empathetic statement rather than one of absolution. As for for whether it is a big deal or not, that will probably have to be it’s own debate, so I am fine withr a simple agree to disagree.
