I thought this was from some beautiful m/m businessman x delinquent series but it’s squid game fanart?? Incredible
It could be both?
Not unless suit guy has a hell of a redemption arc.
i just started squid game recently (because i am very rebellious and react like it’s opposite day when something is hyped up) and it really is very good, at least the first four episodes. i like it a lot. also this art is neat.
Good on during episode 6, is a ride
Man, that payphone is in a really inconvenient location. I wonder how many people have died just trying to get to it.
It’s might not be a payphone, it might be an emergency phone. Never been to Korea, but some really long bridges in the US will have these spread across the bridge span so that if you break down and don’t have access to a working cellphone, you can walk to them and call for assistance after pulling over. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel comes to mind
The phone in the post literally has “SOS” written across the top, so I’m inclined to believe you’re correct. But also, I think it was a joke.
way to ruin the joke smh my h
On some bridges that have high suicide rates they have phones connected to crisis services
ah that makes sense
I wonder how many people have died just trying to get to it.
Lot because It’s a popular suicide bridge in Korea.
ai slop
No it’s not that artists have created much more art like this some even more complex one.
my bad
Eh, it’s a style a lot of AI generators will use so it’s not entirely your fault. I thought it was AI at first glance, but when I looked at the details and everything made sense that’s when I knew it wasn’t slop.
how is it not their fault? ai art bad is entirely to protect artists, and the person wasnt willing to check. hence doing potetially the exact opposite of protecting artists
im sorry but if someone doesnt have time to check, they shouldnt be calling out. they can ignore, hide , whatever if they are bothered at most
I do agree that AI slop is a problem, and explaining my viewpoint on it would be a whole post on it’s own.
As for my comment, I said it was not entirely their fault, in that human neurology includes pattern recognition that is so strong that it is easy to stereotype something. The commenter may have seen that art style used a lot in AI slop and stereotyped it. The process can be overcome by paying closer attention to what you are looking at.
Given that this is 196 community with random memes and pics, not everyone is paying close attention. The commenter could have paid more attention before calling it slop, but it’s also not a high stakes situation. People makes mistakes, and the commented even acknowledged it.
tl;dr
Chill out, we all make mistakes, and it’s only an internet comment.
Ill be a little more clear on this. I am not angry or asking for more from the person who posted the callout. they did their due diligence in taking accountability and thats fine
but what i do have an issue with is not saying this was their fault, explaining why it happened doesnt remove fault. and i dont meant that to put a negative connotation on the poster as a person. but the general idea of not putting fault at people who are ok with taking the time to call out but not look deep into things
you have the right to believe that its not a big deal. but i think it is. not particularly this case alone, but i believe to put fault at someone doing a callout is more than reasonable to not get this to a stage where it impacts artists significantly. things like being banned for accused ai-art posting when there was no proof
i do believe the point i made is more semantics side. i understand the knee-jerk reaction to claim something is ai given it’s horrors. hell i had that reaction seeing this image at first before looking. but i am quite uncomfortable that someone did callout without check and someone is saying its not entirely their fault. understanding why it happened isnt a justification, even if the thing is not a big deal in the specific case
I can see your point. I may be using the wrong word too when I said it was not entirely the commenters fault. I meant for it to be more of an empathetic statement rather than one of absolution. As for for whether it is a big deal or not, that will probably have to be it’s own debate, so I am fine withr a simple agree to disagree.
