If you’ve been there and liked it you’re in luck, almost every other city in France is better 😋
It’s crazy hot in the summer (especially nights), people are thus angry, agressive, everywhere. People drive like maniacs. The municipality have abandoned most things so the streets reeks of piss, playground for kids filled with crap, glass shards, needles and drug addicts. Lots of those young hobo like people who got the bad treatment in other cities end up there too (the infamous punk à chien), so you get 20 dogs chasing each others on the main plaza with drunks, fights etc. And everyone is agressive, sigh.
The Mediterranean is nice of course, but you can’t take the public transport there (the slowest tram in Europe, breaks down when it rains) and it’s very “touristic”.
In the autumn crazy rains flood everything, and the weather is quite bad all the rest of the year (I lived there for 6 years).
For the mountain access, it’s quite far away? Better go to Nice and the Alps, or Pau, Toulouse, Biarritz or even Bordeaux IMO to get to the nice parts of the Pyrenees.
It’s on the high speed train line to Barcelona, which is nice (albeit Barcelona has problems with over tourism I have heard) but that doesn’t make the city itself nicer.
Why??
I lived there and left because I disliked it so much 🤷🏼♀️
It seems nice. You have relatively close access to mountains and beaches. It’s a young city.
What is it that you did not like?

Omg that sounds BAD 🤣😂
I haven’t even been there. I’ll have to research further… Thanks for the info!
