I’m not likely to buy this game, but I’m still more likely to buy it than willingly visit Florida (I’ll only go if I get sent to the concentration camp)

a few years ago I’ve heard this straight guy give the advice of “of course I’m picking the girl in a third person view game. i’m not gonna stare at a man’s behind for hours of playing”
I alternate between “play the guy because more relatable” and “play the girl because ass”
Then again, my friend also used the “I don’t wanna watch a guy all day” reasoning when I asked him and well, now we all know she wanted to be a girl all along.
The real gender was the one she made along the way.
Another one that irks me for some reason is that a LOT of games get the MOST boring, cookie-cutter action hero voice actor for the dude. I just can’t get invested when “me” in the game sounds so unenthusiastic. I tend to pick the female character/voice option just bc they seem to put more effort into it. See: CP2077, most bioware games.
I picked the female character on cp2077 on a whim and thank God for that. The story is so much better with a female protagonist (at least until now, I haven’t finished yet) and V Friendship with Jackie is much more sweet like an unlikely duo. The voice actor is also great. I saw some clips of male V and it not even comparable how different the game feels.
I’ve played through as male and female, they did such an amazing job making the writing and delivery different for Johnny when talking to V.
You can tell he’s a misogynist.
Oh now THAT is interesting, I played male V then female V but they were so far apart time-wise that I honestly didn’t even think about how his dialogue may have changed.
Yeah there is some of the same dialogue of course but there’s definitely changes. It was pretty cool to see.
I have played through Cyberpunk just once so far, as female V. I’ve rarely felt so comfortable in a character’s shoes. It felt fresh
This is 100% the case in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Male player character voice sounds absolutely ridiculous, like Christopher Nolan’s Batman but even worse.
Oh man yeah, I didn’t even bother playing the male protag since I heard Kassandra was the canonical or intended choice. Then I heard Alex or whoever and was so glad I didn’t have to listen much longer.
I used that excuse when I was younger and more insecure. Now I just own it and say I do it because I like to play as women more than men. I’m a man IRL, but sometimes I wanna try on the other sex
I coped like this when I was younger too. Now I say I play the character that I would most want to be. I’d love to be a super fucking hot girl who commits crimes. Unironically, it appeals to the male fantasy lmao
If one transitions, she can be a super hot girl who commits crimes in numerous countries by simply existing
