The women wore head coverings but not niqab or burka, and one was walking alone, so that says Islamic country, but on the less oppressive end of the spectrum. Given that, plus palm trees and a city setting, I figured Damascus was a good guess.
I had attempted to account for the clothing by assuming that it was a fairly cosmopolitan city and picked Karachi. I don’t know any Arabic at all (or Urdu, for that matter), so I wasn’t able to get anything from the writing beyond that it was in that script
