The sad truth is that the Left could also potentially have a number of gun enthusiasts because nothing is stopping any of them from doing that, but the Democratic party has turned most leftists into pacifists who are afraid of guns and feel that impotent sign waving and finger waggling is enough.
There are a lot of liberal and leftist gun owners, they just don’t wear them as identity or gender affirming care.

I’m saying we fixated on the wrong problems instead of attacking the right with actual populist ideas that would have also had a measure of help with issues of equality and human rights. We allowed the right to make it a “bad guys versus good guys” fight when we could have made it a “They’re hurting us all, we all deserve better” fight. We have misjudged with great naivety just how uninvolved and uncaring the average American is about issues outside of their immediate lives, We have tripped up BADLY because our idealism had no wiles or strategy. I guess it was all worthwhile if you can be the most ideologically pure leftist in the camps.

The Constitution was there to serve a small population in the early years of the country. The amendments they made and why they made them have very little if anything at all to do with what radical fascist SCOTUS members claimed since then. There’s been years of arguing about this already so I won’t bother with it here but suffice to say that I absolutely reject the notion that violent fascist ideologues have free speech rights unless you can show me that Fox News and OAN are providing prime time slots for socialists and communists. No I do not gove one single fuck about “bUt tHeYrE pRiVaTe cOmPaNiEs!” because private companies have been publicly oppressed for opposing views.
Honestly, if Republicans/right-wingers want to kill off their own voters by encouraging anti-intellectualism, anti-vax, etc, we should allow them to Darwin Award themselves to extinction. Fuck them; all this leftist empathy and pacifism has allowed fascists to resurge and take over nearly every government across the world.

You shouldn’t. Freedom of speech does have some limitations but not in the ways you suggest. It’s an integral part of Constitution and this country.

I still think it would be more effective to combine that with a 2A campaign against their media pundits and influencers.
Law only exists to control those lower in the hierarchy than the ones who hold ruling authority over its enforcement and interpretation.
