Hear hear. I think there are some valid reasons to want a pick up or SUV (crossovers included) but I think a vast majority of people would be plenty happy with a hatchback. My Golf and my roommate’s Prius carry more than the larger sedans I’ve owned and take up less space on the road, in lots, etc., and use less gas. Heck, a Smart Car or Fiat would accomplish most of my car related goals, but I’d die if any larger vehicle hit me.
Also, selfishly, would love a resurgence of the hot hatch.
Our Honda Fit fit larger stuff in it than our friends Dodge SUV. The floor in the rear was so high it makes the opening small. Meanwhile in the Fit we brought home a table and 3 of the ikea Tullsta bucket chairs ( they aren’t flat pack ), maybe could have squeezed the 4th in the passenger seat, but you would lose visibility out the window.

Yes please. My 2006 TDI is getting old but there’s nothing similar on the market.
