Are you really citing precedent as if the law even fucking matters anymore?

I realize I’m being an asshole and I’m sorry. And if any of these ass clowns get held accountable for anything they do I’ll happily eat crow.

I just don’t see it… We’re in for a hard reset sometime soon.

Memes notwithstanding, the Supreme Court hasn’t consistently ruled in Trump’s favor, even stuffed with 3 of his nominees (thanks to Moscow Mitch). The court did save his ass in their insurrection ruling, but in his second term they’ve been ruling about 50-50 for and against him so far. Here’s an article if you’re interested.

        Thank you for the article!

It doesn’t fill me with much hope, unfortunately. The brightest spot comes in the concluding paragraph:

Although the court could be more forceful in pushing back on Trump… “it is unmistakable now that they are calling him out.”

Even if he’s correct, I think they’re too late and are now powerless to do anything. The real body supposed to be holding the executive accountable, the legislature, is fundamentally incapable of doing so. Add to that the wave of newly minted ICE agents who will likely be eager to uphold whatever order comes their way for that sweet government paycheck, I’m betting the rule of law is not going to save us.

        I want to be wrong.

I just wanna point out that Trump’s favorite President is the same guy who said “yeah I know the Supreme Court said I can’t seize Native American lands because they’re a sovereign nation and we signed treaties with them, but we’re gonna do it anyway because SCOTUS can’t back their decision with force and I can”.

So yeah, you’re likely right, considering he’s already ignoring court orders and trying to find loopholes faster than John Gotti’s defense lawyer.

Barrett and Roberts have proven they’ll vote for what they’ve been paid to vote for like every other conservative on the court, their price is just higher when it violates the Constitution.
