Vance wasn’t talking about an America that’s entirely closed off to new immigrants; rather, it’s an America where “heritage” counts as much as values.
So Vance is saying, we of European origin need to self-deport out of the country and give it all back to the Iroquois Confederacy, the many Algonquin origin tribes, Cherokee, Navajo, Shawnee, Lenape, Nehinaw (Cree) and hundreds of other Native Americans and First Nations people that have unambiguously more heritage to this land that any of us that had ancestors that landed on these shores?
As a gringo I volunteer to go back to Europe if any country would claim me.

My family’s been here since 1733. My family fought in the Revolution, the Civil War, and in every war until WWII.
But because I think all humans are equally terrible, that the US is a fiction based on stolen land, and that I am entitled to all my labor creates, this asshole thinks he’s more American than me.
Every day, this administration becomes more absurd, more outright-racist, and more fascist.
