I know, I get it. Echo chambers are bad m’kay?
But hear me out. Most of the interactions I had on there were essentially me fighting against the news for about 11 years. Most of the people I argued with were reactionary and repeated everything on TV. It was frustrating and it was awful.
I gained little insight into what was going on by interacting with them, and in retrospect, I could’ve been no better off here. And honestly, I feel less on edge about current affairs being around people who get it. I’m one degree removed from crazy.
I’m glad there are spaces on the web where I can get away from all of that nonsense. So, I guess, in a sense, thank you for being here.
These kinds of blanket generalizations don’t exactly suggest much “independent thought.”
Nor does speaking about “the right” as if the U.S. is the only country where a political right exists.
